CHRISTMAS WIDOW

This afternoon my neighbor put up my Christmas lights.  Hung from the gutter, all white LED lights!  I'm going to pretend it is snow!!

I also got ingredients to make Chex Mix and found some Christmas cookie cutters.  The plan is to get up the energy to make sugar cookies to mail to the boys so they can frost and decorate.  My Mom sent me a box of homemade Christmas cookies every year until I was about 40!  Maybe older.  Ralph's Mom also sent us a tin.  Now it's time for me to pay it forward.  I'll have to ask my sister how to pack and ship ... she sends cookies to her kids every once in a while.

While I spent a lot of time on the phone and computer today (yes, I now have Maui health insurance as of January 1, 2016)(and yes it IS $100 more per month ... so affordable ... NOT), I also took a load of unwanted items to Salvation Army ... and I did NOT shop!

Was productive at home as well.  Laundry is caught up.  Kitchen is tidy.  Now just have to clear off my desk and vanity so the cleaning lady can actually CLEAN on Friday.   (My most favorite guilty pleasure).  My first issue of Cooking Light arrived today so I'm mixing myself a martini and going to flip through the pages!

  1. Look at you! Getting things done. My house was a total mess from all the decorating until yesterday. All the boxes are back in the closets or attic... finally, and it just needs a good cleaning. Now on to the Christmas cards and then package wrapping... eventually. Your grands will love receiving cookies in the mail.

    1. Every great once in a while, I do feel productive! From my internet reading, sugar cookie cut outs aren't the best choice to mail. Change of plans!

  2. What a nice tradition to start...sending your little ones a box of grandma made cookies for the holidays. You are on a roll! I would have trouble keeping up with you.
