SCARS

For all of my 63 years, my scars have been on the inside.  Having this first knee surgery now shows a BIG scar on my left leg.

It's incredible how quickly the giant wound healed.  It's disgusting to look at (or touch) still, but moving right along.  Currently, I'm slathering coconut oil and Vitamin E oil on it twice a day.  I would love to do it more, but it really ruins my clothes.  I hope I can "shout" out the oil stain on my Maui sweats.

Do any of you have lotions or potions that worked on your scars?

  1. I tried it all but I still have a wide scar and just about everyone I know who has had knee surgery does too. I'll be surprised how many you'll notice that you didn't before, now that you have your own. Even if the scar does get smoother over time, it still won't tan like the rest of your skin. Sorry!

  2. I have seen those wide scars on a lot of knees. I think they just stay forever? I only have two scars on my body. From my hip replacements. My wounds were glued shut, not stitched. I can barely see the one from the first surgery and the second one isn't all that visible either. But, lucky me (?), they are on my hips so no one sees them. I do use coconut oil on my facial wrinkles however. It sure is greasy and messy!!!

    1. I slather coconut oil everywhere after I shower (outside) in Maui. My skin just drinks it up. Of course, then I have to lay outside until it all soaks in ....

  3. Sorry, I have no advice for you, but I'm glad you're healing. My brother needs knee surgery. He's already had two hip replacements, but with his other health problems, I'm not sure if or when he will do the knees. I hope yours gives you good service. I'm sure it will.
