THANKFUL THURSDAY

My neighbors gave this gag gift they received to the boys.  They love it!

Spring has sprung at our house.

They made a paper mache volcano ... that works! For PREschool project!
The boys made me lunch the other day!

We live about two blocks from the Willamette River (divides Portland into East and West sides).  The boys have a "secret spot" and are making a house.

  1. Those boys sure are keeping you one your toes and healthy. A working volcano in pre-school! Our daffodils are not in bud yet. I'm jealous.

    1. And Dad brought in Dixie cups for each kid ... but in baking soda then let them add the vinegar. The love hands on stuff.

2nd grader came home SO EXCITED ... they got to fill in the talk bubbles on a page of comics! So I had to go online and get him more. I love when teachers make learning FUN.

The parents take turns every night playing math games with him ... to get him faster with his answers. And of course, PreK loves to play also.

    3. Kate was in blended classes until 6th grade (like K/1/2) and I loved it. The younger ones learned just by watching and listening to the older ones (math, reading, Japanese) and the older students got to really know the subject by having to explain it to the younger ones.

LIttle Guy LOVES when parents have "homework" for him. They sit side by side. Big Guy used to do his work in my room at my desk but teacher suggested that he work with life going on in the background. To help him learn how to focus and tune out distractions.

      I can't wait for Montessori!

  2. Great adventures for the boys. My father's and brother's house is on an inlet that has marsh grass and lots of wildlife. My friend's grandson loved to visit when we were there. They did a good job with your lunch. :)

    Your daffodil is pretty.

I want a volcano like that. Ha!

    1. Both parents are VERY outdoor oriented. So they take them out no matter the weather. Jesse has to hose off shoes and boots and rain coats and wash a LOT of muddy clothes.

It's so cute when they make food for me! they love to use sharp knives .... and they are very careful.

  3. I love the boys "house". It takes me back to my younger days of when I made "hide-outs" in the woods.
