ALL BY MYSELF

My buddies left late Tuesday night ... on a red eye landing in Seattle at 7am.  UGH.  I don't think I can do those any more!

(new art shelf in living room)

I miss the little spots of flowers in vases made of interesting things ... shot glass, champagne flute, jelly jar, mason jar.  I miss sharing popcorn and watching Netflix.  I miss having little nuisances repaired.  I miss having the garage or kitchen or living room or bathroom neat and tidied.  I miss having a beautiful healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner prepared and cleaned up.  I miss having my laundry finished.  I miss our crazy conversations and great coffee.

But I'm keeping myself occupied ... a volunteer drive, hair coloring (re-do as the week before was too ashen and I'm looking for golden blond), planning meeting for volunteer appreciation luncheon, shopping for items for the center pieces, a trip to Kaiser to get my bone scan (went to wrong location, then over to right location only to find out I was supposed to NOT take calcium or vitamin the day before ... rescheduled til March 17).  A stop for Lisa to get new slippas. Me to get a knee brace for the bad knee.  Tomorrow a beach trip then a work session with hot glue guns.

I will probably survive.  I did remember how to buy groceries ....

  1. I love your art shelf! I really want one of those but I can't figure out where to put it.

Sounds like you're keeping busy and welcome back to the mainland. It will take time to get back into your routine.

I hope that brace works for you. I had them for both knees for a couple of years and I hated them. They were constantly sliding down. Didn't you have a knee replaced a few months ago or did it get put off and I missed something?

    1. I love the art shelf! IKEA!! I have five at the Oregon condo. It makes it so easy to change your art work and not leave holes to spackle.

I haven't tried on the brace yet and it is for the right knee which needs to be replaced but I'm trying to wait for Medicare to help me.

  2. AHA! Now I know the "real" reason you welcome guests. Free slave labor!! (Joking!) When are you coming back to Oregon?

    1. Ha! I do have to say all of my guests spoil me. Cooking or treating me at restaurants. It makes their visit like a vacation for me!!

I'm bringing the little family over in August before Braeden starts Kindergarten. Currently, I don't have plans to visit Oregon this year. NEXT year, I'll visit once or twice and I will treat them to a Maui trip once ... gotta time it around school now!! Although I have been known to change my mind ... Christmas in Oregon might work out this year.

  3. No wonder your guests are missed. Must have felt like a vacation in your own home. Now that they're gone, do have more guests lined up? You are so industrious!

    1. The next confirmed guests are in June. Rumors of a young couple coming in May but they have not made air reservations yet. My condo friends that postponed will probably come as soon as he is able to fly and move around comfortably.

It's good to be able to be flexible!!

  4. The art shelf is great. I should do that in my grand's room. They fancy themselves artists. We could frame their masterpieces.

I wish I had guests like yours. That sounds pretty good.

That knee brace looks serious. Hope it works well for you.
