AWKWARD FEET

I have been wearing sensible shoes for over 30 years. Dansko since a friend's podiatrist encouraged her to wear them to alleviate a bunion. And for the past four years flip flops were perfect.

NOT!

For the past six months the bunion fairies have lovingly nurtured a bunion on my right foot. It's now to the bothersome phase. And it's making my second toe morph into a painful mess.

I've been trying toe separators, gel sleeves and massage. All to no avail. I've run out of home remedy treatments. I officially feel old.

I'm in the process of getting my own podiatrist.

  1. When your feet hurt, everything else seems to follow suit. I need to see my podiatrist this month, too!

  2. At least you weren't like... born with them. I had to have them removed on both feet when I was 18. Whenever it's cold or rainy, my feet hurt because I have a little metal pin in each foot. So, I FEEL your pain.

  4. Oh, No! I'm hearing ya - sometimes getting old is so... insulting! Just when we'd really, really appreciate good working parts, they go. Let us know what the podiatrist suggests. Surgery and recovery isn't easy.

  5. INSULTING! That is it! Nothing life threatening but constant annoyance a constant nagging pain. INSULTING! And I'm sure the doctors just think I'm a hypochondriac for even mentioning this ....
