JUST ANOTHER COVID WEEK

The week began with a 6 month check up for the second cataract removal.  Everything is great so now back to once a year.

The Kidults are on a smoothie binge and I get to reap the benefits.  And I got a lesson on how beneficial cantaloupe seeds are!  High in protein and so many different vitamins.  Cucumbers are a great source of Vitamin K and a bit of magnesium. Today's smoothie, invented by Deacon:

    Fresh strawberries
    Banana
    Cucumber
    Cantaloupe and seeds
    Frozen cherries
    Agave

I made granola and chex mix (both are Jesse's favorites).  He is so thin and if he doesn't have breakfast before the boys are up, he doesn't eat.  Neither of them eat lunch.  Cereal is a solution for breakfast and string cheese and chex mix for a snack/lunch.  Both are already gone so I'm going to made another batch of each.

After using the oven, I set it on self clean one night when I went to bed and Jesse wiped out the ashes.

Friday afternoon was my first dose of Pfizer vaccine.  I had Kate drive me and it took way longer than anticipated.  An hour in line to get the shot, then 30 minutes in the parking log due to shellfish allergy.  Plus it's 30 minutes to the airport and Kate was getting grumpy without a nicotine!!

The good news?  No side effects!

  1. That's very nice of you to make those batches of chex mix and granola for Jessie. I'm sure he, and the rest of the family really appreciate you taking the time to make them. I had my first Pfizer shot too and will get my 2nd one on Friday. No waiting in line for me. I was the first scheduled in the afternoon and they took me about 10 minutes early. I had come early in case of a line. I had it at a Hyvee Pharmacy. From what I read online, if anyone gets reactions, it is usually after the 2nd shot but I do know people who have had both shots of Pfizer and haven't had any reaction to the 2nd shot.
