WHO'S WATCHING ME?????

Have you ever had the feeling someone was watching you?

The same car and driver drive past your home at different times of day?  Are people staring ... Do I have spinach in my teeth?  Did my pants split in the back?  Do they think this fat girl should not be eating french fries?  All of these are true.

So this morning I did it.  Again.  I rejoined Weight Watchers.  The 7:30 am meeting ... and I arrived early to fill out all the paperwork....after picking up a grande coffee to drink AFTER the weigh in.  The meeting was lively (where do they FIND such peppy leaders?).  Some members drove from Lahaina to Kihei (about 45 minutes) and one lady rode her bike from Lahaina.  Here I was moaning about having to get up at 6:30!

I've been on the potato chip and red wine diet since I returned to Maui in November.  It works great if you are trying to GAIN weight.  So now I'm investing in myself.  It is a big job and it will take months of hard work..... this time it has to be a forever plan.

My sister inspired me with a sweet little card I received a day or two ago .....

Inside caption "And then I thought, maybe this much awesomeness can't possible fit into a smaller size."  Of course, she brought tears to my eyes with "I love you any size ... and you are so much awesomeness".

Here's to sister inspiration and grandson motivation ..

I'll be 64 on Sunday.  I've planned out a reward system for each meeting, pound, 5 pounds and 10 pounds.  A gal who also joined this morning has the same savory and alcohol evening routine so we traded phone numbers.  After dinner is my most difficult time so I may send myself to my room at 8pm to read or watch Netflix.  After I go for a hobble around the neighborhoos!

  1. I've got to get myself into gear diet wise, too. I've been so busy and the weather has been so cold or rainy I can't get out to exercise. Oh, now I know what a WW app is! Weight watchers.

Good luck with your meetings and your new night time support. I've had good results with WE but it's hard to maintain their program for me.

    1. It's hard to always eat sensible. I'm just out of excuses! At least with WW you can eat food from the grocery store ... and get to chew it!!

  2. I'm so proud of you! Putting it out here is tough, so I will support you in any way I can. You are certainly worth every healthy treat you desire. (Do you REALLY have to give up the red wine?)

    1. I get 30 "points" per day. 5 oz of of red wine (3 swallows!) is 4 points. I'm going to not have it every night. We do get some floating points so I'll have a glass or two on the weekend nights.

I must say, I have so much more energy today since I've not had very many carbs!!!

    2. When I cut out carbs on my EatFatGetThin plan I was much more energetic too! And had no soreness from exercising. Has something to do with eliminating inflammation inside our bodies. I've been staying off carbs for that reason!

      Red wine is expensive :-()

    3. Alcohol (and junk food) IS expensive. But I did have a small glass last night. Now to plan my produce trip for today! They are mostly 0 points (except corn, potatoes, etc)

  3. I have always heard that alcohol, especially wine is very fattening. Can you cut down to just one glass a week, or do you have to have it every day? My daughter Karen has great luck on WW and has followed it for years and years. You have had your thyroid checked so you know it's normal--right? My Jennifer dieted for years and never could lose. She finally got her Thyroid check and it was way off. She dropped 50# in 4 months, after she started the Thyroid pills. I can't give ANY dieting advice. I gain weight when I'm happy and lose weight when I'm depressed. Right now, I'm at the weight I was when I was 30! I lost a lot of weight after Fred died and now I can't eat very much at a time, so the weight has stayed off. I used to eat a foot long Subway all at one sitting. Now, I can barely chock down 1/4 of that.

  4. Actually red wine is very beneficial ... no fat, no sugar. But empty calories.

Yes ... both Drs checked thyroid! Darn ... no excuse there.

Basically, I have very POOR eating habits. I spent the first 30 years being too thin. And then boom .. 40! If I can really change my taste buds to prefer fruits and veggies ... instead of chips, crackers, fried foods, cheese, salami, dips, pasta, bread ....

  5. How wonderful that you are back in that place of motivation! I know you can do it! We just got home yesterday from our Hawaii trip and this morning I weighed myself (I only gained one pound on our three week trip not sure how that happened) but I am bound and determined to drop 35 in the next few months. I hope I can stay as motivated as I am today. By the way your sister is right - you are beautiful and awesome right this very minute !!!
