By the time you get to read this, I will be back in Lake Oswego. Oregon ... where we have no sales tax and we are not allowed to pump our own gasoline.
We had a fabulous eight days on Whidbey together, then drove south four hours to Lake Oswego so Aunt Janet could visit with the boys.
For reference, we stayed in Coupeville just 1/2 mile from the ocean (right above the words "Whidbey Island" on the map pictured). More details to follow!
I would love to go back to the days when we didn't have to pump our own gas!
ReplyDeleteHope you had/are having fun.
It's so exhausting having fun all day long ... and the eating! Oh my!
DeleteThat is nice to hear that you can't still pump gas in Oregon. We lived in Medford from 1988 to 1993. It was great to have that service available. I'm 61 years old and I still don't know how to pump gas. Good thing is I work at home and don't drive much and currently hubby takes care of it.
ReplyDeleteGood too to hear about no sales tax either. Montana was like that but they sure made up for their revenue by what they charged for car registration. Been so long ago I can't remember if Oregon's registration was expensive or not.
Sounds like you had a lovely trip.

Thanks for commenting. I need to mimic your style and add more photos!!
DeleteI think taxes are pretty similar ... just different kinds ... property tax, income tax, etc!! They get us coming and going!
