Despite the little hurdles tossed in front of me (with no notice) healthwise, I am determined to overcome.
Several bloggers I follow are setting a great example. One is eating better and smaller. One is going to the Y and building strength, balance and cardio. I love reading about how they do it even when they don't want to. Although I have joined Weight Watchers, I'm not following the program every single day. And I need to.
My biggest downfall? BLTs. Bites, licks and tastes. Mr. 6.5 and Mr. 3 usually leave a bit on their plates. Jesse and Kate are such good cooks, I can't bear to waste those little morsels.
I found this little gem on Facebook (or somewhere) and it is going to be my motto. This journey is not just losing weight. It's the whole enchilada!
I'm glad that the boy's parents LET them leave food on their plate and don't encourage them to eat every morsel. That's a gift that will keep them from over eating in the future, just because it's there.
ReplyDeleteI'm trying this time to not pay attention to the scales and just work on getting stronger and healthier. It's really hard to break life-long habits isn't it.
Eating out used to be such treat and luxury ... I felt compelled to eat everything. I need to get away from THAT habit!
DeleteI have never had an Enchilada. I like Tacos, are they similar to Tacos?
ReplyDeleteAh ha ha ha! Google it!
DeleteYes! Exactly! It's all about feeling as well as we can, isn't it? One of the biggest things I've noticed is that I can bend over better, moving is a little easier, and breathing has improved. The bending over is very noticeable, but all of these changes came gradually.
ReplyDeleteGood luck to you. As some of our health issues fall our of our control, it's good to know that some of it is still in our hands.
YOU are one of my encouragers! Just quietly doing the right thing ... it took me YEARS to gain all of this so I don't mind if it takes years to get rid of it!
DeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!!! May 1st.
