That was fine, but I didn't enjoy their book selections... for the most part. They were often grim and depressing. I would like to try again with a new group. I'm sure each group has its own flavor. A gourmet cooking group (four couples) and a women's investment club (10 ladies). Each lasted about ten years. Maybe what the philosophy of the book is. The hidden meaning? If any. Like a book STUDY group--with NO million dollar women! Oh well--I enjoy reading books about "life after the world ends"--stuff like that and am probably the only one around here who reads that kind of stuff. Bring on Animal Farm and 1984 and On The Beach.Judyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03399435237919718544noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2764389163852345785.post-48345420351624422162015-08-17T04:58:46.700-07:002015-08-17T04:58:46.700-07:00I can live vicariously through your book club tria...I can live vicariously through your book club trial and error. Thanks for the experience! The only book club I enjoyed, and was a member of for nearly a decade was a Bible book club. We took turns leading the discussions, which were quite serious, focused on transforming our difficulties and nourishing our spirits. Come to think of it, it was like group therapy LOL. And there's the 'book club' of AA. LOL. Anyway, for each chapter of life there MUST be a book club to match. Looks like you're on to something!

Genuinely reflecting on any good book can provide insights that open our hearts and minds. Why not a wine club?

I belonged to a book club and most of the people did read the books but few had much to say about them other than "I liked it" or "I didn't like it". It wasn't as much fun as I had imagined it would be. We didn't get to know each other well either, so I was disappointed. I will try another one after I move.Misadventures of Widowhoodhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17262709452281226620noreply@blogger.com
